2018 Fall Faves

Hey Party People! Fall is such a fun season to play with when it comes to fashion and styling. The weather is usually between that perfect temperature of warm and cool which can allow you to play with layers. With that being said, I wanted to share with you guys some cute, affordable and simple looks that will have you looking so in trend this fall season!

Eyewear:  Sunnies and frames are my favourite accessories to collect. Whiter they’re a classic style to make your look appear more sophisticated or a bold frame you just want to add to your fit to stand out, you can never go wrong with adding some into your wardrobe.

IMG_4611I recently purchased these bold cheetah print frames from Forever XXI. I love to wear these on days I want to give my outfit a bit more personality or if I’m feeling lazy to get dressed up I can wear the simplest pieces and throw these on and it makes it look like I put so much effort into my look.

Headwear: Fall is the perfect time to bring out headwear such as caps, berets, and headwraps. Every girl should invest in a beret. They can give your outfit such a classy and feminine feel. Throw it on with a trench jacket and heels to dress it up or even rock it with a knit dress, bomber and combat boots for a more street style vibe. IMG_4801

Statement Earrings: In a rush to get ready or just not in the mood to put thought into a full fit? If you’re a fan of earrings, invest in a few statement pieces! Not only do they jazz up a boring look but they can also be a conversation starter! Forever XXI, Aldo, and HM carry some super trendy ones at an awesome price point.

I’m in love with bell bottom jeans because they look so bomb with heels and I find them more of a dressier feel when it comes to jean styles.

Cardigans and Knits: What better way to stay warm than investing in some cardigans and oversize knits this season! I got this mid-thigh knit cardigan from Forever XXI and paired it with a mock neck long sleeve and high-waisted jeans. You can have so much fun with oversize knits by adding a patterned collared shirt under, wear them as is or as a sweater dress with tights or a printed pantyhose.

Footwear: Kitten heels are making a comeback. They’re the perfect footwear to wear when you don’t feel like wearing heels but also need to elevate a casual look. I would usually wear kitten heels to work, with jeans or to banquet hall events. (Have you seen my previous post on CO-ORD for fall? Check it out next!)

These black patent leather booties are an essential item for the fall because they go with everything and can give you a clean finish to any look. Topshop, Forever XXI usually carry these but I got mine from Sirens and I find them pretty comfortable to wear all day. Facetune_24-10-2018-19-50-07

My whole outfit was Zara inspired but I got everything I’m wearing from Sirens excluding my earrings which are from HM. Underneath my jeans jacket, I’m wearing a knee-length vest with a turtleneck. Don’t be afraid of trying to layer pieces together, it gives your look dimension and can make a simple piece look more elevated.

In love with the snakeskin print that is on almost everything this fall! It gives off that classy feel and can be worn with the most basic pieces when you’re having one of those busy days and is on the go. The ones I’m wearing are from Aldo but you can find similar ones in different styles from almost anywhere that sells footwear

CO- ORDs For Fall

October is HERE which means the fall weather is upon us! Wedding season is in full effect and with these chilly days/nights, it makes it a bit difficult to find cute outfits for your special occasions that are more on the formal side. I’m seeing a lot of CO-ORD sets (coordinating sets a.k.a two pieces) in style this fall 2018. The two-piece I’m wearing is by the brand DO+BE which I had sitting in my closet for over a year just waiting for it’s day to come. It can be both dressed up and down, which is what I love the most about it.

My sister and I attended a birthday event which was held in a banquet hall however, it was a smaller setting; I figured I could get away with a co-ord set like this one. To dress it up, I paired it with these blush pink pointed toe kitten heel to give the fit a pop of colour along with a unique gold clutch to balance it out. I was going for a more simple, laid-back but classy feel. Co-Ord sets are super fab not only for the fall but all year around. Having that option to wear both top and bottom together or separately can allow you to get the best wears out of the set for the entire season!

What are you excited to wear this fall 2018?

Through the grapevines…

IMG_4143Over this past weekend, I got the opportunity to celebrate my close friend’s birthday along with her family by visiting one of the most popular vineyards in Canada for wine tasting. Innisklinn has been making wine for over 35 years with vineyards such as the one located on Niagara-on-the-Lake.

For this experience, I knew I was going to be walking around learning the history behind this popular wine, so I knew I had to dress comfortably with a twist of fancy.  In order to fulfill this look, I wore a simple cut off arm dress that had a mock neck cut. The forest green colour was perfect for the occasion. For a more daytime appeal, I accessorized with a white crossbody and cat-eye shades. For comfort and to colour block the look, I wore these cute ballerina like sandals that strap up just above my ankles.Facetune_27-08-2018-13-42-22

Even though it was a hot day overall, we were expecting some rainfall throughout the day. Thankfully I came prepared and brought this checkered blanket scarf (Displayed in the photo above), it tied in with the theme perfectly to give off that tourist/classy vibe.

Wine Tasting

This experience was rather interesting even if your not a frequent drinker like myself, to witness how this wine came to its well-known name.

If you’re looking for unique things to do or planning on having a more reserved birthday, this is a nice way to celebrate or even for a couple’s/girls weekend getaway!

Think PINK!

Festival time is around the corner! With the busy week preparing for the exciting weekend, not only are you going to be looking for sexy outfits, but you’re most likely going to getting your nails and hair done!

In Toronto, the first weekend of August is the busiest time of the summer with the occurrence of 2 events. Caribana and VELD. Caribana is a one day parade mainly celebrating the Caribbean culture open to the public. People get dolled up in feathery, glittery costumes and dancing to festive music such as dancehall, reggae, soca, and afrobeats down the streets of Downtown, Toronto.  VELD is a 2-day music festival that happens in a central park in Toronto that has performances by various artists  There are many vendors selling all types of neat things and different food trucks to keep you energized at both events.

Cornrow Braids with Pink feed-in

Unfortunately, I won’t be attending any of the two this year, however, I figured I could still be in the festival spirit and get my hair and nails done to match the vibe! I got my hair braided by a local hairdresser (her information will be tagged on my Instagram Page @PetiteTinaa) Instead of getting the typical cornrow style, I wanted to add a little twist to it by adding one of my favourite colours to it, PINK! This is such a cute and simple hairstyle that works for any music festival/parade because it’s hassle-free and fits the vibe of having fun!

Anyone who knows me knows how much my nails mean to me! Festivals are known for vibrant colours and jewels, so I wanted to display that in my nail design. I got a baby pink chrome finish shellac along with some jewels to bring it out even more.

Hope everyone has a fun-filled, exciting and vibrant weekend whether it be attending Caribana, VELD or just simply enjoying time with loved ones and friends! Stay safe!

Let’s Talk Business

This week has been a busy one for me. On Sunday, I attended a V.I.P event that was held at NYX cosmetics and on Wednesday I was booked up with meetings around the GTA.

I’m a strong believer in first impressions so when attending meetings and events, I always want to show how vibrant my personality truly is. In both looks, I wanted to give off a fun, positive, and outgoing vibe so I choose to wear the colour yellow. Not only is this colour super popular this summer, but it screams you’re not afraid to stand out.

I absolutely love these loose fit dress pants I purchased from Zara. They sit perfectly at the waist and has such a rich colour scheme which can be paired with multiple pieces. The open leg gives off that business feel and the material is so light and soft making it perfect for the summer evenings out.

I figured wearing my lip-shaped purse which I purchased from Aldo would match the event setting best. With the intentions of standing and walking around, I wore chunky open toe heels.

Recently, I’ve been finding myself gravitating to statement earrings. They can make any outfit look dressier than it really is and can be used for great colour blocking. I got these purple tassel ones from Aldo. Facetune_26-07-2018-10-23-29

Depending on the business meeting, you want to look both formal and comfortable. For this look, I wanted to display my style as formal, casual and comfortable. My pants are a formal fit with a twist of casual but since I dressed it up, it looks more “business appropriate” I wanted to also display the fact that I love colours and being creative.

– Here are some tips on how to look professional for a formal event/meeting –

  1. Presentation: Arrive put together and clean. This will show that you are organized, and care about representation. Which will leave others with a good impression.
  2. Footwear: Depending on how formal your meeting is, footwear can play a huge role for both females and males. For females, I always recommend wearing the appropriate formal heels just because it looks more professional. However, in some cases, you can get away with something more flat if that’s more your style.
  3. Confidence: Show up with your confidence, everyone can respect a person who is comfortable with themselves and has a lot to offer, don’t be shy to let your personality shine, you never know what opportunities can arise because of it!

Summer Saturdays

On a summer Saturday night, everyone wants to enjoy the weather! whether it be a night out roaming the busy town, clubbing with the girls or just a chill evening out. Here’s a quick and easy go to look for an unplanned summer night.

A friend of mine invited me to hang out in Downtown Toronto. With no set plans, I said why not. This gave me little to no time to choose an appropriate fit for the night.

Facetune_15-07-2018-13-15-51I was unsure of where exactly we would be going, so I wanted to create a look that was versatile in any setting. My ripped denim shorts are from HM and gave my outfit a casual feel. I ended up playing around with this white button down by tieing the front and rolling the sleeves up a bit and wore a white lace bralette underneath. (which I purchased at walmart…in the juniors section BTW!) For accessories, I kept it simple with a linked necklace and assorted bracelets to match.

I choose to wear a classic style rose gold heel to complete the outfit. A fit like this is also perfect for a daytime event and can be modified simply by switching the choice of footwear and purse selection. (If you end up wearing one that is.)

Overall, I had an enjoyable night out and got so many compliments on this easy fit!

What’s your fav thing to do on a Saturday night?

P.S- Have you ever tried shopping in the kids/junior sections? Sometimes, you can find such cute pieces you can potentially work with at a cheaper cost and people would never believe!)

Concert Essentials

On July 5th I attended Tory Lanez “Memories don’t die tour” Concert. When attending events such as concerts you know you want to look both sexy and comfortable. When creating this look I was going for 3 things:

2. Comfort

3. Convenience

If you been keeping up with my blog posts, you would remember the time I went to Tory Lanez’s first concert in December 2016 and may recall the post  Boots & Fur

With it being summer, I wanted to wear something that I know I won’t feel too overheated in. I wore this bright orange lace bodysuit I purchased from Sirens. I Thought it would be perfect for the concert look not only because of its bright colour but it also gives off that sexy feel.

My bottoms are from a local Toronto designer called POVRICH. These shorts are so comfortable because of its stretch and I love the edge it gives off from the distressed and laced up detail on the sides. Making my whole fit breathable for the packed crowd.

As for footwear, as crazy as this may sound…my heart wanted to wear heels just cause I know it would sell the fit, BUT I knew my feet would def not be happy in those by the end of the night. However, I found the perfect dress shoes to go with my outfit from Sirens!  They completed my look just as I envisioned it and my feet were super comfortable throughout the night.

My fanny pack is so super cute, compact and convenient! I love wearing these to events where I know I’m going to need free hands but still need to have my essential items on me. I found this cute one from Ardene’s.

Love my orange tint shades that my mom gave me (She actually had these from way back in her younger days, so these are the real vintage shades LOL) My cross hoop earrings are also from sirens and the layered necklace I purchased from Ardene’s as well.

As for makeup details, I did a simple gold shadow and stuck with the orange theme by doing a reddish-orange ombre lip.

What’s your favourite piece from this look?
